SPECIFICATIONS: 704 books (9" x 7") and access to “Introduction to Geodes^® Implementation in a Fundations^® Classroom,” a professional learning video

Great Minds® and Wilson Language Training® collaborated to create a collection of accessible, knowledge-building books for emerging and developing readers. Geodes Level 1 Classroom Library aligns with both the Fundations Level 1 Scope & Sequence and the module topics in Great Minds’ Grade 1 English language arts curriculum, Wit & Wisdom®. Geodes Level 1 Classroom Library is organized into four topical modules: A World of Books, Creature Features, Powerful Forces, and Cinderella Stories. It includes: 64 unique books containing both informational and literary texts. These titles are divided into four topical modules with 16 titles in each module. There are six copies of each title, resulting in 384 total books. Additional components include: My Geodes®, a grayscale book that is a compilation of the four titles that comprise a set (there are 20 copies of each My Geodes,® for a total of 320, to allow each child to have one for extra practice in school or at home); Inside Geodes®, a teacher resource that includes a comprehensive introduction to the module design and components and provides suggestions for implementation; “Introduction to Geodes Implementation in a Fundations Classroom,” a professional learning video that offers implementation guidelines for pairing Geodes with the Fundations lesson; and a geode rock with stand to highlight that this library is called Geodes because the books belie the rich and complex knowledge they contain.
